Schedule of Classes

All courses offered by the GHG Management Institute are deployed on the web. Classes are one month in duration, with the exception of GHG Verification for Inventories and Projects, which is two months. The materials are available for a total of one year from the time the course starts. We open a new class every month in which the opening is the first day of each calendar month (with the exception being GHG Verification for Inventories and Projects, which is every other month).

During the period of a class, a live Instructor will lead the class, posting comments on the discussion forum and answering questions posted to the discussion forum within 24 hours. There is no need to be online at the same time as your classmates or instructor.

You will also have a Training Assistant or Beadle to guide you on substantial or course-related concerns and technical matters. All online classes are self-paced and classes are accessible 24 hours/day. We do have a suggested Study Pace for participants , in which the average lessons per week is between two (2) and three (3). Your Training Assistant will send you reminders to help you keep up your recommended study page. All of the question and answer (Q&A), and discussions take place via email and are posted in discussion forums online.

The GHG Management Institute utilizes an online e-learning format to keep costs down and enable us to have a global reach as large as the internet itself. E-learning allows you to take a course according to your personal schedule and without travel time and costs.

Rescheduling Policies and Fees

Please note that every GHG Management Institute course is available to enrollees for 12 months. During the period of the class (one month for most courses), you will have access to our course material, faculty, a learning support associate, and your classmates. These represent three levels of interactivity to maximize your learning experience. If you are taking a proficiency exam, you will need to take it within your one year access period.

The following represents the rescheduling policies and fees:

  • Learners should specify their preferred schedule for every course upon making their online order and payment and/or as they correspond with the Registrar of the Institute.
  • Learners will receive a confirmation via email on the proposed schedule of classes together with their log-in details from GHGMI Support. The proposed schedule will be based on the learner’s preferred classes.
  • In order to reschedule any course, learners need to send an email to registrar@ghginstitute.org with their request.
  • There is no charge for schedule changes made prior to the first day of class.
  • Any schedule changes made after class opening day will be charged a fee according to the schedule below:
Opening day to end of 7th day of class: USD 100
From the 8th day to the 15th day of class: USD 200
After the 15th day of class no rescheduling is allowed
  • Payments for the rescheduling of a class can be made online.

Cancellation or Withdrawal from a Course

Learners can withdraw from a course or assign a course to another eligible person. Learners who withdraw before the course starts can receive a full refund minus a processing fee of USD 150. Learners who withdraw within the first 5 days after the course starts are eligible for a 50% refund.

Learners withdrawing from a course should contact the GHG Management Institute by e-mailing registrar@ghginstitute.org and provide the following:

  • First and Last Name
  • Registered email address
  • Course title and registered course start date

For security reasons, your identity will be verified.

Assignment / Transfer of Learner Rights Policy

Learners may not transfer their course access to other people. This will invalidate your participation and will forfeit your chances of receiving a certificate of training. Should you wish to transfer a course to another eligible person, you will need to contact the Registrar (registrar@ghginstitute.org) and apply for the transfer.

As a general rule, transfers are allowed only when a learner has not started the course or is incapacitated to continue. The Institute will issue a certificate only to the learner who began and completed the course. The same policy will apply to the associated proficiency exam. Access to the paid proficiency exam will be given to the learner who finishes the corresponding course.

A fee of USD 200 will be collected for a transfer to be processed. Refunds will not be issued. Before paying for the fee, be sure that your request for transfer is approved by the Registrar.
