Grants and Contracts Coordinator
Beth Pottridge is the Grants and Contracts Coordinator at GHGMI where she carries out grant compliance and contracts management, in addition to being involved in processes of grant research and proposal writing.
She previously worked with the United Nations for 15 years in various countries in Africa and the Middle East, such as Afghanistan, Somalia, South Sudan, and Mali, among others. At the UN, Beth engaged in project management, grant reporting, and lead supply chain processes.
She has been part of teams implementing various international development projects such as the Transboundary Watershed Management in Sudan and Ethiopia funded by EU, Safety Net & Skills Development in South Sudan, Rule of Law & Democracy in Somalia and Yemen funded by DfID and EU, and Post-Harvest Loss Reduction in Uganda.
Beth brings not just experience but also the passion she learned from different communities in the places she has worked. She saw first-hand the potential for communities to thrive and realize their goals, if only they are given a “little push” to organize themselves. Having grown on a farm herself, she has witnessed the rudimentary practices farmers use as they struggle to cope with the challenges of climate change. She is excited to be a part of a team that brings initiatives and education to support such communities to achieve their full economic transformation.
Beth holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations and French from Makereke University Uganda, and a master’s degree in project planning and management from Uganda Management Institute. She speaks English, French, and 3 African languages.
