$175 – $1,600
This training is required to become a California Air Resources Board (CARB)-Accredited Verifiers for the Cap-and-Trade Regulation Compliance Offset Program. To become an accredited verifier, individuals must complete Course 1 and the methodology-specific courses (3-6) corresponding to their desired scope of project types. Course 2 is intended for registry staff only.
Under CARB oversight, third-party verification provides a systematic and documented process for the evaluation of reported data and calculations against the regulatory requirements.
Upon completion of the selected course(s), CARB will determine if all accreditation requirements have been met and grant accreditations at its discretion.
After registering below, your registration will be reviewed by CARB. All trainees must be approved by CARB to participate in the Compliance Offset Program Verifier Accreditation Training. If your registration is not approved, a refund will be issued.
GHGMI will administer the Verifier Accreditation Training through its online learning management system with self-paced interactive learning modules and a forum for Q&A that will be monitored by CARB staff relevant to each course. Prospective learners must register for their selected courses during an open-enrollment period (to be publicized here).
There is no time limit for completion of the course.
The remote training platform will track participant progress in completing each of the required course materials.
Your registration fee includes one attempt at the course’s exam. If you do not pass the first attempt, a second attempt may be purchased for $175. If you do not pass the second attempt, and if you want to take the exam again, you must pay the full registration fee for the course. All exam retakes must be approved by CARB.
Registration fees are as follows:
Scholarships, partial payments, or payment plans are not currently available.

If payment is received following this deadline, enrollment will proceed in the subsequent enrollment period.
After registering, your registration will be sent to CARB for approval. CARB approves new registrants on a weekly basis. You will be contacted by CARB if your registration is not approved, or if further information is required before you can be enrolled.
