This training is required for those seeking to become CARB-Accredited Verifiers for the Low Carbon Fuel Standard.
Under California Air Resources Board (CARB) oversight, third-party verification provides a systematic and documented process for evaluation of reported data against the regulatory requirements and methods for calculation.
The training includes six courses:
All trainees must first submit an accreditation application to CARB to participate in the LCFS Verifier Accreditation Training. Approved applicants may process their training registration payment below.

CARB will hold one LCFS verifier accreditation training in October 2022 with self-paced on-line recorded lectures, and weekly on-line live Q&A sessions. Please note the following important dates and milestones for completing Course 1 and the associated Accreditation Exam. More information, including the schedule for on-line live Q&A sessions and suggested pacing of on-line recorded lectures can be found on the LCFS verification website.
Self-study and test-taking for Courses 2 through 6 may be completed at any time between October 3, 2022 – October 14, 2022 11:59 PM PST. CARB has provided a suggested schedule for self-study. Live Q&A sessions offered throughout October will be specific to the course coinciding with the suggested schedule for self study. The remote training platform will track participant progress in completing each of the required course materials.
Registration fees are $1,750 for courses 1 through 6. Scholarships, partial payments, or payment plans are not currently available.
Registration fees are due Wednesday, September 21, 2022. After registering you will receive an email within 2-3 business days that includes a link and login details to access your online training account and course materials.

The California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Low Carbon Fuel Standard Regulation (LCFS), which appears at sections 95480 to 95503 of title 17, California Code of Regulations, requires independent verification of data reports specified in section 95500.
