This training is required for those seeking to become CARB-Accredited Verifiers for the Low Carbon Fuel Standard.
Under California Air Resources Board (CARB) oversight, third-party verification provides a systematic and documented process for evaluation of reported data against the regulatory requirements and methods for calculation.
The training includes six courses. Course 1 is optional for trainees who have been “fast-tracked” via their application prescreening by CARB.
All trainees must first submit an accreditation application to CARB to participate in the LCFS Verifier Accreditation Training. Approved applicants may process their training registration payment below.
If you have not applied to the program, you may do so by following this link.
Applicants that have been approved by CARB as “fast-tracked” participants may register for either option below:

In processing your registration below, you must select a single option.
CARB will hold one LCFS verifier accreditation training in the Los Angeles Rivier Room at their Southern California Headquarters (Mary D. Nichols Campus 4001 Iowa Ave, Riverside, CA 92507) from October 9-13, 2023, with in-person lectures, quizzes, and tests, as well as Q&A sessions with CARB subject matter experts. Course instruction will begin promptly at 9 AM and conclude at 5 PM each training day, except Wednesday October 11 with a noon start time. Morning coffee and refreshment breaks will be provided, and trainees are asked to please report to the Los Angeles River Room at 8:30 AM for check-in on their first day of training (Monday/Tuesday depending on the trainee’s fast-track or non-fast track status). Daily lunch refreshment breaks are also allocated, but lunch is not provided. More information, including the training schedule can be found on the LCFS verification website. Fast track verifiers approved to take Courses 2 through 6 may optionally register to participate in Course 1: General Verification to watch the lecture and attend the Q&A session.
All trainees will be given access to virtual course materials (logistics handouts, course lecture slides, handouts) on October 2, 2023, one week prior to the in-person training. Trainees are highly encouraged to engage in self-study activities with the materials as a means of further preparation for the training.
Registration fees are $1,750 for Courses 1 through 6, or $1,400 for Courses 2 through 6. Scholarships, partial payments, or payment plans are not currently available.
Registration fees are due by Monday, September 25. After registering you will receive an email within 2-3 business days that includes a link and login details to access your online training account.
