Description
This course for GHG verification of inventories and projects includes:
- An overview of existing GHG verification approaches such as ISO 14064 Part 3 and the UNFCCC Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Validation and Verification Manual
- A step-by-step process to planning, executing and completing a GHG verification
- Reference case studies including verification GHG inventory developed according to the WRI-WBCSD GHG Protocol for Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard and GHG projects developed according to ISO 14064 Part 2
The material in this course is relevant to many GHG programs around the world, including the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), Joint Implementation (JI) and Climate Action Registry (CAR) projects, as well as GHG verifications for The Climate Registry (TCR) and the Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS).

- Planning the verification according to fundamental issues of scope, criteria, objectives, level of assurance and materiality
- Reviewing documentation, controls and procedures
- Assessing inherent, control and detection risks
- Determining verification activities, sampling and data testing
