The Greenhouse Gas Management Institute is proud to announce the awardee of the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Award: Jasjeet S. Sidhu. Congratulations, Jasjeet!
We present the Distinguished Alumni Award to one of our alums each year, based on responses gathered in our annual Alumni Survey. In this survey, alumni from the previous year are allowed to nominate themselves or someone else for this award. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank and congratulate all the 2024 GHGMI alumni who were nominated for this award; selecting a single awardee was challenging, as all of our 2024 alumni demonstrated valuable contributions to the GHG management space as GHG practitioners.
Jasjeet completed the Diploma in Carbon Management in May 2024, having dedicated 13 months of intense effort to enhancing his understanding of the carbon management field. Completing the Diploma in Carbon Management requires passing seven Proficiency Exams and is one of our most rigorous programs.
Jasjeet is a climate change and sustainability consultant based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has extensive experience in assisting organizations across emission-intensive industries, both in quantifying their organizational emissions and in developing decarbonization strategies, with a focus on the energy transition. Before registering for the Diploma program, Jasjeet applied for a GHGMI scholarship. His application reflected his passion for contributing to climate action and ambitions for a career in carbon management, which would enable him to increase the decarbonization goals of his clients.

The detailed content within the courses has already enabled me to deliver greater value to my clients and solidified my credibility as an emissions specialist within my organization. I believe that effectively combating climate change requires accurately quantifying and fundamentally understanding the impact and sources of anthropogenic emissions on our planet. This knowledge is crucial for developing meaningful and effective strategies to safeguard our future.”
