GHGMI is celebrating our faculty member, Céline Gueguen, by honoring her with the 2024 Outstanding Faculty Achievement Award. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to excellence in teaching and your dedication to capacity building and development, Céline!
Alumni who participated in the GHGMI Annual Alumni Survey submitted their nominations for the Outstanding Faculty Achievement Award. They recognized all our faculty members for their dedication to guiding and supporting their professional development, as well as promoting critical thinking in their areas of expertise in GHG accounting. What a year of excellent instruction 2024 was!
In 2024, Céline’s outstanding instruction was evident in her delivery of curriculum in Central and West Africa, playing a crucial role in the success of over 60 alumni becoming GHG Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) experts. In addition, Céline continues to instruct our online 2006 IPCC Guidelines course series. As one of the lead authors for the 2019 Refinement of the 2006 IPCC Guidelines, Céline has dedicated her professional career to measuring emissions and atmospheric pollutants through inventory analysis, training, and capacity building of stakeholders and national greenhouse gas (GHG) experts, specifically by supporting countries in their choice of emission mitigation strategies.
This recognition is well-deserved! Her commitment to students’ engagement and success inspires us.
“What an enthusiastic work for a trainer having so curious and motivated students! In my view, there is no surprise: the more the students are involved, the more the instructor is dedicated. It has always been a pleasure to deliver the courses to the GHGMI students, trying to answer their pertinent questions, challenging me in my own knowledge. Especially, supporting young ladies wanting to focus their professional lives on becoming GHG accounting experts! It is so satisfactory to meet them a few months later on projects, working with them no longer as instructor-alumni but as colleagues. The next generation of GHG experts is assured! Thank you all for this award, this nomination is a real honour for me!”
Congratulations on the award again, Céline. It’s great to see you recognized by learners for your outstanding instruction. Let’s all come together to celebrate Céline’s achievement. I encourage all GHGMI members to share your congratulatory messages for Céline in the comments below!
