Description
Cross-Boundary Leadership for GHG Managers
The Greenhouse Gas Management Institute (GHGMI) Capstone Academy gives you time to work through a GHG accounting or management challenge you are facing now and to build the skills to move it forward with the people you depend on: colleagues, suppliers, executives, peers, and even competitors. Participants come ready to share their expertise and learn from peers tackling similar challenges across sectors. This is not a lecture-based workshop. Each participant brings a real-world GHG management challenge they are currently working to address.
When: March 15 – 17, 2027
Where: Missoula, Montana, USA
Registration: October 16 – December 16, 2026
Fee: USD $3,000
Eligibility
The Capstone Academy is an advanced program for experienced practitioners in the private or public sectors. To be eligible, you must meet at least one of these requirements:
- You are an alum of a GHGMI training course, program, or workshop
- You hold a current EPt(GHG) or EP®(GHG) professional certification
Every Capstone Academy registration includes one enrollment in a GHGMI online course. If you have not yet met the prerequisite above, you do not need to wait to register for the conference. Your online course will launch on January 20, 2027, and because GHGMI courses are self-paced, you’ll have nearly two months to complete it by the first day of the workshop (Monday, March 15, 2027). Completing the course makes you a GHGMI alum and satisfies the eligibility requirement.
Training and Logistics
This GHG management workshop will only run if at least 15 participants register. GHGMI will confirm whether the workshop is active by January 20, 2027. We strongly recommend waiting until then to book or make any travel arrangements. If GHGMI cancels the workshop for any reason, we will refund all deposits and fees in full. GHGMI is not responsible for any costs incurred by participants for travel and lodging.
Once registered, you will be asked to submit a brief, one-page summary of the real-world GHG management task you would like to work on while at the Academy. This summary will describe the goal, where you are stuck, and what input from others would help you most. The summary doesn’t need to be perfect; each participant will meet with a workshop instructor before arrival to help you refine the task for workshop purposes. We will use these summaries to form peer-to-peer workshop groups.
