GHG Protocol Announces Members of Technical Working Groups

GHG Protocol has announced the members of the Technical Working Groups that will aid in revising and updating the corporate standards suite. This announcement comes on the heels of a larger governance restructuring, that began in May of 2022. The new structure is overseen by a Steering Committee and a new Independent Standards Board, which will supervise the development of the GHG Protocol and its Technical Working Groups.

The Technical Working Groups will develop the updated technical content of the GHG Protocol standards and guidance so that corporate GHG reporting is a better fit for the various purposes for which it is being called upon to address. Each multi-stakeholder group concentrates on a specific area: Corporate Standard, Scope 2, Scope 3, and Actions and Market Instruments (formerly known as Market-Based Accounting Approaches), with the technical responsibility of providing expert input, recommendations, and reviewing revision suggestions and responses of review groups.

GHGMI staff are honored to be serving on three of the Technical Working Groups:

We are looking forward to collaborating with other experts and contributing our insights and expertise to develop much-needed improvements to the GHG Protocol.
